We are pleased to share that Barnardo’s has recently been appointed as South Tyneside Council’s new SEND Mediation and Dispute Resolution Service provider.
The new service will go live on 1st of October 2026 and will provide independent mediation to support the resolution of disagreements relating to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping families, educational settings and South Tyneside Council work together to achieve positive outcomes for children, young people and their families.

Referrals can be made to Barnardo’s using the contact details below from Monday 28th September 2026, prior to formal service commencement on Thursday 1st October.
