5th April 2022realsmart admin

This week for Children’s Mental Health week we have…

Had a yoga session,

Used the story ‘The Owl who is afraid of the dark’ to help us think about what we should do if we are scared or worried. We then played SUHUPU to tell our friends our ideas,

Joined in with ‘Jump Start Johnny’ to make us smile,

Read ‘The Colour Monster’ and talked to our friends about what makes us feel happy or sad and we even showed these expressions on our faces, which really made us laugh.

Upper Key Stage Two Girls Remain Unbeaten!

5th April 2022realsmart admin

Our Upper Key Stage Two girls put in another great performance at this afternoon’s Primary Girls’ Football League fixtures. Playing at a very windy Hebburn Comprehensive School, the team played two matches, winning one and drawing the other. It was especially encouraging to see how well our debutants performed – special mentions to Millie in 6 Blue, Jessica in 5 Red and Hannah in 5 Blue who really enjoyed their little cameos! Well done also to Tia and Maya in 6 Red, who were both at their all-action, goal-scoring best. Thanks also to Mrs Henderson for braving the wind and Mrs Walton for her minibus skills. Well done girls!

3 Steps Forward, 3 Steps Back-Year 3’s Computing Fun

5th April 2022realsmart admin

This week the children have been participating in some computing fun. The children first learned about algorithms and worked in pairs to give each other the algorithms to make a square. This allowed the children to prepare themselves for when they used the Scratch app. The children programmed their sprites with algorithms in order to move around. The children enjoyed creating animations with their sprite characters and were risk-takers by testing new algorithms and new moves.
