6 Blue have been really progressing their dance skills this half-term. We have been enjoying our Complete P.E. ‘Samba School‘ unit of learning, in which we have learned about some of the basic key steps of this Latin-American dance before adding our own group interpretations to create a short choreographed sequence to music. We will be refining our routines further over the next few weeks before our final dance showcase. Well done everyone!
Some of our Year 3 children attended the South Tyneside Multi-Skills Festival at Temple Park this week. The children took part in events such as football shooting, basketball dribbling and throwing & catching. The children had a great experience and won two of the events – the target practice and the football shooting. Well done everyone – it was a real privilege to take you along and your behaviour was exemplary.

Reception had their first ‘Little Movers’ PE session today. Lots of dancing and following routines, team work and balancing skills! We all had a fabulous time and feel super fit.
Our Year 5 School Sports Organising Crew (SSOC) visited Temple Park this week to take part in the first session of their leaders’ training programme. The children took part in a range of challenges including dodgeball, tower-building and problem-solving before being presented with their Crew T-shirts and goodie bags! The children will learn more about leading sports and PE-based activities across the year so that they can have a real impact with school sport and playground games. Our first challenge was also set – we are to create a special SSOC display board in school so watch this space! Well done to Jayden, Freya, Taylor and Corey and special thanks to Mr Molloy for his support too.
Our Upper Key Stage Two Girls made their competitive debut in this season’s Primary Football League this week. It was the girl’s first time playing together and not only were they up against some experienced teams, it was also extremely windy at Hebburn Comprehensive School! The girls certainly gave their all and were seconds away from winning their first points of the season in the last game of the day. We will be practising more in school before our next games after Christmas but we are so proud of the girls’ efforts so far. Well done girls!
Today in PE Year 4 have been working on their Gymnastic skills. We learned to hold and control a balance whilst creating a bridge with our bodies. We then looked at making our bridges have two levels, whilst at the same time trying to be symmetrical. We did a fantastic job! Move over Beth Tweddle, here come Year 4!
Our Upper Key Stage Two Boys’ Football Team played their next round of matches on Tuesday evening, winning both games and scoring an impressive 12 goals in the process! The team are playing with a lot of confidence and some of the goals have been fantastic passing moves. Special mention to captain Jayden who scored with a long-range effort that can only be described as a ‘worldie’! Well done boys and well done to all of the players representing their schools on the night.
Hebburn Lakes started off the 2022/23 South Tyneside Upper KS2 Football Season in excellent form at a wet and windy Hebburn Comprehensive School on Monday evening.
Captained by Jayden and featuring some very promising debut performances all over the pitch, the boys won each of their two games, scoring an impressive 10 goals in the process!
Congratulations to everyone in the squad and special thanks to Mr Todd for his support with the team – let’s keep this up and try to repeat last season’s title run!
Well done also to all of the players representing their schools on the night.

We had a fantastic time with our new parachute in P.E…..

Don’t worry, nobody got eaten in the shark game!
