Today we launched our new theme in LMTW ‘Come Fly with me Arctic
Circle’. We started by discussing that frozen water was ice. The children found out that the Arctic was mainly made of ice and snow and that it is very cold there. We discussed that global warming is affecting the Arctic more and more each day due to climate change. As a class we decided to have an ice challenge to see who could hold the ice for the longest periods without it melting and used classroom objects to prevent it from melting too quickly. This was extremely fun but quite challenging. The children came up with some amazing vocabulary to describe how the ice felt.
