If you are ever stuck on how to add 3 digits together just ask one of us! We are amazing and found that we could use our 10’s frames to place each number. We then realised that once we had made them the other number was easy to see. We are experts now and were able to answer some mastery questions.

Sweet Caroline and the Football Boots is a fun, interactive, music-led performance for all the family with local musicians Ashleigh Lowes and Paige Temperley.
The songs in this performance have been co-created and inspired by girls football teams from across South Tyneside. The story is about the journey of “Sweet” Caroline, a small girl from South Tyneside who is desperate to be a footballer and who teams up with her older neighbour to take on the boys! It is an engaging story of discovering your talent, overcoming stereotypes, finding your team and having confidence in yourself, with a fun, uplifting message for a young audience.
As part of the ticket price, there will be themed food served after the show – and as it is football-themed, there has to be Bovril, sausage rolls and pies!
Running time – 45 minutes
Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite link HERE

As part of R.E. we have been learning about Moses and how important he is within the Jewish religion. We looked at the early years of Moses and designed a slider to show Moses floating along the river in his basket. We then read the story of the Burning Bush and how God instructed him to go and release the Israelites. After that, we looked at how Passover is celebrated and we designed our our Sedar plate then thought about all the ways we are thankful and added tham to our Menorah candles.
Reception have been learning about the Harvest Festival. Kit Kat the Bunny and Jenie brought some vegetables to school. They told the children that every year they go to a special celebration in their church where they thank God for all of his food gifts. They also talked about how Christians take food to church to celebrate the Harvest Festival and then share the food out with people who live nearby. We talked about our favourite vegetables, described how they felt, their size colours and what they looked like. We then investigated them with our friends. We read the story Oliver’s Vegetables and sang the ‘Cauliflowers Fluffy’ song.
Every Friday in Year One we have a Motor Skills session to help support our fine and gross motor skills. The children are becoming increasingly more confident whilst using the equipment to help strengthen their to muscles to support their physical development.
Last Thursday was a very exciting day in 3 Blue, as we were on the last chapter of our very exciting book ‘Stitch Head’. By Guy Bass. To help celebrate what has been such a great book we went to read it in the new outdoor classroom. As you can see from the pictures we all felt very honored to be one of the first classes in there.
Yesterday Hebburn Lakes had a visit from Reverand Ian who is from St John’s church. He talked to the children about powerful animals and then moved on to talk about parts of our body that are powerful. He then discussed how our tongue is so powerful because of what we say and the impact it can have. The children had lots of ideas about the words we could use. Some of the suggestions were: beautiful, gorgeous, I love you and stay positive.
This week we have been working really hard on our place value in maths. Today we have been doing flexible partitioning of numbers to 1000. Although this sounds really complicated, 3 Blue have been amazing and are always ready for the next challenge.
