In year 2 we have been looking at 2 step maths problems and thinking about different skills we need to use in order to work them out. We are using our reasoning and problem solving board to catch the information we need, draw out our ideas then answer the question. We are amazing!
A fabulous time with lots of Easter excitement! So much creativity, repeating patterns, writing , rabbits and much more 🤗⭐️👏❤️🐣🐣🐣
A fabulous week in Reception! Lots of shape work and pattern, word hunts and writing and as always fabulous creativity! We have some new additions to Reception, some frogspawn! The child have talked about how we can look after them and have loved watching them grow and wriggle about! We look forward to watching them change and grow over the weeks.🐸🤗⭐️❤️
A fabulous week in Reception! Spring has definitely sprung ☀️. We’ve had creativity, so much writing, fabulous maths and simply a magical week where everyone has shone 🤗
Reception had a fabulous stay and play sessions. Their grown ups came to spend some time joining in with some of the activities the children enjoy in school. They showed them how creative they are, how they are working so hard on their Sounds Write skills, maths and so much more! Well done Reception!
This week we are looking at money and it’s value. We played with the coins and worked out what coins we needed to make differing amounts. We found that different coins can be combined to make amounts and that it is all about addition, which we love!
A great week, sunshine, creativity, measuring, team work and smiling faces on our final week of this half term ⭐️👏❤️⭐️👏❤️🤗
Despite a very wet week we did manage some time outside! A very creative week of doctors surgery, valentines, team work, independent writing and maths. We are doing a sun dance and hoping for sunshine next week 🤗⭐️👏❤️😋☀️
Today in Math’s we focused on volume, we used various classroom objects to fill and empty different containers and used the associated vocabulary to describe the children’s findings. The children used their prediction skills to say how many objects would fill a container and then compared results.
The children understood that ‘the most important thing we need to know about volume is it is how much space something takes up.’
An extremely busy week in Reception. Lots of creativity, building, drawing and using our imagination to create stories! Great maths. Jobs combining groups and amounts. We had some fabulous independent writing, it is fabulous to see the children really using their Sounds Write skills! And this week lots of children pretending to be teachers which was amazing to watch and listen to 🤗⭐️👏🤗⭐️👏
