Year 4 – A Lively Debate!

4th April 2022realsmart admin

As part of our theme ‘Law and Order’, Year 4 have been learning about how decisions in our country are made. Today we carried out a class debate. The children were able to plan their points for debate and deliver these with confidence and conviction. I think we might have some MPs of the future at Hebburn Lakes Primary.

Upper Key Stage Two Girls Continue Good Form

11th March 2022admin

Our Upper Key Stage Two Girls continued their unbeaten run in this year’s Primary School Girls’ Football League at Hebburn Comprehensive on Wednesday afternoon.

Up first was Bede Burn Primary and an evenly-matched game eventually ended in a  1-1 draw.

Next, we played St Oswald’s Hebburn and our girls re-discovered their winning ways with a 3-1 victory.

Well done girls and thanks too to Mrs Richardson for her support with the team.

The next round of games will be played on Wednesday 6th April.

Huge congratulations to our Upper Key Stage Two Boys’ Football Team, who played superbly again in their latest league fixtures, winning both games impressively.

It seems certain that once the league table has been updated, Hebburn Lakes (just like their female counterparts!) will sit proudly at the top!

Well done everyone and special thanks to Mrs Jennings for her support with the team.

Greek Coil Pot Crafting

11th March 2022admin

As part of our current Learning Means the World theme, Athens v Sparta, we have been learning about ancient Greek pottery; the stories that the images on the pots told and the different shapes.

We then designed our own pots to include images of imports events in our lives, such as the birth of a sibling, a favourite holiday, our closest friends…

Our pots are made from clay and are carefully painted in traditional Greek pottery colours.

Team HufflePuff

11th March 2022admin

We had a great day in 4 Blue’s classroom yesterday for a ‘Harry Potter’ inspired day. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day and embraced the experience.  They began their day by taking part in a Harry Potter quiz, followed by a game of quidditch before break. After break, the children demonstrated their art skills by sketching Dobby followed by wand making. After lunch in ‘The Great Hall,’ the children made traditional ‘Butter beverages’ and met our surprise visitors, the owls.

Slytherin 4 Red – Owls

11th March 2022admin

The children were very inquisitive about the owls, they were asking questions, found out lots of interesting facts and an amazing amount of information about them.  The children thoroughly enjoyed listening and watching Chester and Willow, our visiting owls, especially when one of them had an accident on the floor!
