This week saw the return of Governor Day. It was even more exciting for the children as the Chair and Vice Chair gave an assembly about the governing body role and how they help the school.

Our brilliant Upper Key Stage Two Boys’ Football Team continued this season’s fantastic run of results with another thrilling display at today’s Bart Rippon Cup event at Temple Park. Having qualified for the semi-final stage during the morning fixtures, the boys then made it through to this afternoon’s final with a narrow 1-0 victory over Harton. The final was another closely-contested game which eventually went to a dreaded penalty shoot-out! By a whisker, we were defeated by St. Matthew’s, who went away as today’s cup winners – congratulations to them and well done to all of the children who represented their schools today.
I am so proud of the players’ efforts and attitude to finish runners-up – you are all a credit to yourselves and it was a pleasure to take you there today. Well done boys!

LikeToday we had some very special visitors in Nursery. The chicks, which hatched last week in our reception class, came to see us. We all held them and talked about what they felt like. We could hear them making chirping noises too. The children were all very sensible. They understood that we had to be gentle and quiet with the chicks, to keep them safe and make sure we didn’t scare them.
