To celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, Year 4 created a fact file about sharks and some wonderful artwork of sea creatures using pastels. In the afternoon, they had a special visit from ‘Pawz For Thought’. They showed the children two baby seagulls and talked about the amazing animals that live and visit our coastline.
Today we have been learning all about Sir David Attenborough to celebrate his 100th birthday. We’ve learned about his early life and his extensive career. As part of the day, we’ve learned about wildlife that live in the oceans and seas around Asia. We produced some beautiful art work inspired by the creatures we’ve been learning about. We finished the day with a special visit from ‘Paws for Thoughts’ who shared some of the amazing conservation work they do. They even brought two baby seaguls.
This week we had a fantastic day at Jarrow Hall learning about Anglo Saxon Life. We learned about Saxon farmers, diet and their justice system. As well as this we learned about Saint Bede and his role in scripture writing. We even had a time for a visit to the park.
A busy week of doubling, sharing, writing, creativity and just showing everyone how amazing they are ❤️👏🤗⭐️

In 1 Red our Art lesson in LMTW was focused on light and shade. The children had to observe which way the light was reflecting on 3D shapes in order to be able to highlight the brightest spot where the light hits correctly and then they were able to create a core shadow by making part of the shape the darkest, so it was looking away from the light. Their images showed where the light was bouncing off the surface underneath the object, hitting the dark side which is called the reflected light. We definitely have some budding artists amongst us as their end products were fantastic!
This week, we have been learning about the vibrant, colourful artwork of Romero Britto. The children created information pages about Britto (inspired by his art).
A shorter but very busy week! Chicken licked creativity, fabulous maths, team work and all round an amazing week! 🐥🤗⭐️❤️👏
