eVisa

2nd December 2024h teacher

The UK Government is replacing physical immigration documents with eVisas, a digital proof of immigration status.

Parents and guardians of children who are not British or Irish citizens, and whose children have either a biometric residence permit (BRP) card expiring on 31 December 2024, or a passport with an indefinite leave to remain ink stamp or vignette sticker, should take action to access their eVisa now, and do so on behalf of their children too.

An eVisa cannot be lost or stolen and can be accessed online by visa holders at any time to prove their rights in the UK. It’s free and does not effect your immigration status.

Well done Y5!

2nd May 2024h teacher

This week our Y5 children have been taking part in bikeability.

I am really proud to say, that the feedback from both our staff and visitors about the impecable manners and behaviour of the children has been amazing.

The Bikability staff shared how the children had made them smile throughout the week and that they will be using Hebburn Lakes as an example of excellence when they visit other schools in the Borough.

We ask our Y5 Navigators to ‘Lead the Way’ and after such glowing feedback, what more could we ask for?

Well done Y5, we are so proud of you all!

Key Community Bus Route

7th December 2023h teacher

The Key community Bus will be stopping at a range of venues acxross South Tyneside.

Downstairs there will be a shop selling good quality fresh fruit and vegetables, packet, tinned, and non perishable food and non-food and hygiene items, baby wipes, milk and nappies for very low prices in the hope of helping individuals/families money to go further, reduce waste and lower the need for the number of people attending food banks which is at an all time high. All money made from this project feeds back into the charity and food bank we run in South Shields.

Upstairs there is seating areas where we can offer advice and direct/refer individuals to relevant interventive services.  We hope to have some of these services available on board to offer advice and are hoping to have the likes of welfare rights, Drug and alcohol services among others. The bus has an awning and out door seating and offers tea and coffee for those who would just like to come along and have a chat.

The bus is for absolutely anyone to use and is not restricted to those on benefits, it is for the whole community.

We currently offer free school uniform and winter coats free of charge upstairs on the bus and have a pop up Christmas shop with toys and Christmas items at very reduced prices.

The North East and North Cumbria Child Health and Wellbeing Network have developed a new Healthier Together website and app to support their work to reduce pressures experienced within the healthcare system this winter and to offer trusted NHS advice to parents/corers when their baby or child is unwell.
