This week the children had a fantastic opportunity to take part in R.E workshops based around the Indian festival of colour, ‘Holi’. Kalpesh from K’z Dance Entertainment Ltd taught all the children some traditional Indian dances and discussed with them the meaning of the Holi festival. At the end of the day the whole school came together and performed the dances taught earlier in the day, the children and staff had some wonderful moves! At the end of the performance everyone took part in throwing colourful dyes at one another to celebrate Holi, just like it is carried out in India.
We had a great day at the ‘Space’ themed exhibition at the Life Science Centre.
Lots to do and lots to explore, from launching rockets in Mission Control to watching a film about star constellations in a 360 degree movie dome. We even helped with some science experiments, investigating space travel and exploration.
7 Red having a fantastic time making place mats, plates, crowns and even bunting!
Enjoying our Jubilee picnic party…..Even the weather can’t stop the fun!
7 Red have been exploring multiplication and division.
We have enjoyed sharing ‘equally’ and we challenged ourselves to find different ways of creating equal groups.
Mrs McCarthy had 9p to share ….we worked out that it couldn’t be shared equally between 2 but could be shared equally between 3.
3 groups of 3p.
7 Red worked together to think of a challenge question:
“How many equal groups can you make out of 100?”
Don’t forget it’s our Jubilee Coffee morning in the school hall at 9am tomorrow.
