This week in our Learning Means The World Theme, Year 3 have been designing and creating their own Greek Coil Pots. This activity required lots of patience as we found it tricky to mould the clay into coils in order to construct our coil pot.

Today, Year 4 took part in the Little Inventors Competition. We had great fun designing a wind powered invention, that would solve a problem, make something better or just be really fun.
To help us with our ideas we had a wind powered hovercraft race, where we had to make a hovercraft from a balloon, a bottle cap, a cd and some blue-tac.
We have had a fantastic day!

They followed the design brief, planned, edited and created their design all to fit the needs of their pirate.
In Jigsaw, we have been learning about how to deal with difficult situations. Whilst it is always wonderful to achieve our dreams, it is not always possible. We learned that it is important to be resilient and show a positive attitude when facing disappointment. As part of the challenge we entered the ‘Funniest Potato Competition’, working as part of a team, designing and creating our funny potato.
Here’s what we achieved!
