Here’s all the information you’ll need to find out how to get to school by public transport:

Travelling to school | nexus.org.uk

· Or, if you know the number of the bus you need, click here to find the timetable.

· Metro timetables are here

Tickets and passes.
· Get your Under 16 Pop card to save money on child fares.

· Or buy a School Pass so you don’t have to find change for fares every day.

Getting help
· Call Nexus Customer Services on 0191 20 20 747 for all public transport advice and information or send them a query here.

· School Travel Fact File, attached, about getting to school by public transport. It’s aimed at Year 6 pupils, and children moving to middle or high school, but is useful for all pupils who are planning to travel independently.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2023

15th May 2023N Fada

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. It’s a chance to think about our mental health and what we can do to protect it.

The place where we go to for comfort and to feel calm is very important as it often helps us to feel better when we are experiencing worries.

Where is your ‘happy place?’ At the beach listening to the waves, walking in the woods, cooking something delicious, spending time with your family, walking the dog?

We would love you to send us some photographs throughout this week showing us the places that make you and your child feel happy and calm.

Miss Fada
Senior Mental Health Lead

Reception Coronation Week!

5th May 2023K Richardson

What an amazing week we have had celebrating the Coronation.  We made ‘natural crowns’, decorated tiles, created loose part crowns, red white and blue patterns, built palaces and so much more!  Today we had a party outside and it was sunny!

Shaun the Sheep on the Tyne Assembly

27th April 2023Hayley Tampin

Today we welcomed Karen from St Oswald’s Hospice for a special ‘Shaun the Sheep on the Tyne’ assembly.

Karen talked to us about the fantastic work the hospice do and the wonderful care they provide for children and adults with complex disabilities.

Some of you may remember the amazing Snowdog and Elmer art trails… This year’s trail will bring a flock of beautifully decorated Shaun the Sheep sculptures to the North East. The learning programme has been sponsored by Northumbrian Water.

The school council and eco-warriors have worked hard over the last few weeks, collecting ideas from their classmates and coming up with our very own Shaun design. Our next job is to begin the painting process and to bring their design to life!

The trail begins on 19th July 2023 and will run throughout the summer holidays, ending on 27th September.

A visit to Reception from a local author!

20th April 2023K Richardson

Today we had a very special visit. One of our parents came into school to talk to the children about a storybook she has written. It is called ‘The Little Falcon’. It is a very special story that is based on her son. In the story the bird cannot fly and is supported by Jodi. Jodi is a fantastic lady who runs marathons etc for Toby and sends him the medals. Toby, the author’s son, has cerebral palsy and we talked about some of the equipment that he uses to support him so he can be included and involved in so many activities. It was a fabulous afternoon and the children were able to talk about similarities, differences and why it is so important to be a good friend and look out for each other. There is a photo of the  QR code if you would like to buy a copy of this fabulous book 😊

THURSTON 2023: Year 6 Battle The Elements!

17th March 2023C Campbell

Congratulations to our Year 6 children who returned from our residential trip at Thurston this afternoon. Every single one of you displayed all of the Navigators qualities we show in school to battle through everything the Cumbrian weather could throw at us. A full photographs showcase will be uploaded in due course but for now, here is one of the few blue-sky pictures we could take! Well done everyone!
