As part of the Four Seasons project, we carried out an investigation to answer ‘Do all trees change colour in Autumn?’ We went on an autumn walk, observing and collected various autumnal objects. We discovered that some trees are deciduous and some are evergreen. We also learnt that some birds migratre south for the warmer weather.
With the things we collected along the way, we created some artwork inspired by Richard Shilling. We are really proud of our creations!
We are always kind in 7 Red – but today we all made a super effort and shared what it means to be kind to our friends.
For World Mental Health Day 7 Blue have been learning that our feelings are important and discussing how to care for ourselves and each other.
We made a Kindness Wheel, gave it a spin and it revealed a random act of Kindness that the children had to complete. I very proud watching them all being super kind to each other by giving complements, writing kind notes and making cards for each other. This made us all feel very happy. Well done 7 Blue!
We celebrated world mental health day by being kind to each other and ourselves. We discussed the feeling we get when someone is kind or unkind to us then we took part in drawing and designing our own mental health day pictures.
In 2 blue we are working on a Four Seasons Project and the first season we are looking at is Autumn. We have discussed what happens in this season, different types of trees and the colours and feelings we have during Autumn. We went on an Autumn walk and created pictures using Autumnal items that we found along the way.
It’s been a super creative week in 4 Blue, we’ve been creating not just in Learning Means the World but in English too. We’ve been tackling some Art during Learning Means the World this week and have been looking at Johannes Gutenberg and the invention of the printing press, discussing the mechanics of its use and doing some printing ourselves! Here are some of the pieces of artwork your children have created. 4 Blue have persevered, been innovative and resilient all week – well done 4 Blue!
What a busy week Reception has had. Lots of measuring capacity, length and weight! Sounds Write skills are being shown everywhere and it’s fabulous! So much creativity and team work ❤️⭐️❤️
7 Blue attended a Primary school 10 Pin Bowling tournament organised by South Tyneside School Sport Network. We were one of seventeen teams from across South Tyneside.
The children represented the school excellently, eventually finishing in second place, with plenty of strikes and spares! The whole team were thrilled with their silver medals. Well done everyone!
We have been looking at Jingles and how we can keep the pulse of the music. We have loved learning about echo and call and repeat music and we are able to talk about the difference between them. We then added some instruments and actions to our songs to keep the beat and explain what the vocals were telling us.
This morning we had a visit from Reverend Ian at St John’s church. He talked about how God created people in his image. He talked about how people are special and how you see their images on coins etc. He then talked about how everyone is special, how we have to treat everyone with kindness and look after everyone.
