Y6 Keep Britain Tidy

7th February 2023C Campbell

Year 6 were on litter patrol this week, showing pride in our school environment. We collected two bags of litter that the windy weather had blown into the playground and against the perimeter fence. We agreed as a class how important it is to recycle as much as we can and place our litter into a bin, taking it home with us where this isn’t possible.

Well done everyone!

I Blue can spot the difference.

6th February 2023L Chisholm

Today in our Learning Means the World lesson we worked with our partner to spot the difference between 2 pictures of a classroom.  We used great communication skills and team work in order to find all the differences.  We realised how hard it was to find them all if we didn’t concentrate on each section and communicate appropriately with our partner.  We took turns to tell each other what we could see and shared our results with the class.

Reception – a taste of India!

5th December 2022K Richardson

In our theme Come Fly With Me Asia we have been focusing on India. Today we have been cooking! We have made two curries. One was a lentil dahl and the other was a vegetable curry.  This afternoon we have been to our restaurant and ate our food, along with naan bread, poppadoms and rice. The children used their senses to describe the smells, what they could hear, see and how the food tasted.  We are so proud of everyone as they all tried some new foods! 🇮🇳👏🏻😊❤️

Oh I do like to be inside my igloo!

25th November 2022L Chisholm

This week we have been learning about how it would feel to live in an igloo. We thought about the life of an Inuit and what they ate, where they lived and what they wore. We even tried some Inuit throat singing! We decided that we are very lucky to live in this country and eat the food we eat, we really don’t fancy walrus nuggets!

Reception – Come Fly With Me Asia! We are off to India!

17th November 2022K Richardson

In our theme ‘Come Fly With Me Asia’ we have travelled to India. We looked at some artefacts and placed a Bindi on our foreheads. We have been trying out some Bollywood dancing and found out about the ceremony of Rakhi.  The children then made some Rakhi bracelets and we have started to make Indian flags 🇮🇳. We also investigated some of the spices used in traditional Indian foods. The children used their senses to look at, smell and taste them. We were so impressed that most children wanted to try them!
