As pat of our current theme ‘Athens V Sparta’ we have been looking at persistence, determination and team work. We have  tried to balance spoons on our noses- which isn’t easy but we were determined to do it and working as a team of structural engineers to create the tallest tower we could.
In 3 Blue we have been writing newspaper articles based on the events in the book The Tin Forest by Helen Ward . They were all so amazing that we have now created a whole class newspaper for everyone to read. Here are just a few examples of our amazing work.
What a great morning we had this morning! This morning we had our parents and carers join us for a maths workshop. We introduced them to some of the methods that we used for multiplication and division, we showed them how we can play with numbers using different  methods and sang a couple of our favourite multiplication songs.
As part of our Learning Means the World theme- ‘That’s all folks!’ We have been creating our very own animation.  We created our own story boards, then using play dough we created the characters from the stories we had made. After that we designed backdrops for our animation. We then used ‘stickbot’ to create our very own animations.
Last Thursday was a very exciting day in 3 Blue, as we were on the last chapter of our very exciting book ‘Stitch Head’. By Guy Bass. To help celebrate what has been such a great book  we went to read it in the new outdoor classroom.  As you can see from the pictures we all felt very honored to be one of the first classes in there.
This week we have been working really hard on our place value in maths. Today we have been doing flexible partitioning of numbers to 1000. Although this sounds really complicated, 3 Blue have been amazing and are always ready for the next challenge.
This year’s book fair will run from 3.30- 4.30 on Monday 18th March to Wednesday 20th March.
It will take place outside the small hall.

As you know this years World Book Day  theme was Ronald Dahl. We have had so much fun today and as you can see we looked amazing doing it!
We have just finished our current theme- May The Force Be With You. We have been learning all about forces. We have been learning about pushes, pulls, gravity and magnetism. We even created our own maths fishing game using magnets and paper clips. Â We searched for magnetic and non- magnetic metals and recorded our findings on Venn diagrams. We also designed and made our own moving vehicle to investigate which surface would slow them down. It if safe to say we have all really enjoyed learning all about forces.
For the first time this year we have had a cheerleading club. Children have been learning skills such as strengthening, conditioning, teamwork, and musicality. Cheerleading is always so much fun and a great way to motivate the children to move around through dance. As you can see from the photos below we have been practicing a team routine/chants along with learning new skills. The children have worked hard this term and have gained so much more confidence which enables them to be the best they can be.
