As part of our theme this half term, ‘Picture Our Planet’, the children have completed their own independent pieces of homework. Well done 4 Blue.
7 Red have been exploring multiplication and division.
We have enjoyed sharing ‘equally’ and we challenged ourselves to find different ways of creating equal groups.
Mrs McCarthy had 9p to share ….we worked out that it couldn’t be shared equally between 2 but could be shared equally between 3.
3 groups of 3p.
7 Red worked together to think of a challenge question:
“How many equal groups can you make out of 100?”
Thank you to everyone who attended our Jubilee Coffee morning today, it was an amazing success and lovely to see parents back in school again. It was also great to see the art produced by the children as well as a special performance from Year 6.
Last week we came into Nursery to find someone or something had left footprints on our floor. We looked at the clues and thought about what it could have been. It had big feet and sharp claws and it had brought leaves and branches through the nursery too. After some careful thought, we decided that it could have been a Gruffalo!
We have had lots of fun with our Gruffalo activities this week and last.
Some of the activities included;

We had so much fun yesterday in maths, we have been investigating measures. The children looked at what they could measure and how they could measure it. They also talked about the different abbreviations that they knew and new ones. Using different measuring equipment to measure items in the classroom.
Have a look at the amazing art from across the school.
As part of our Jubilee celebrations we our learning about ‘Jamaica’, one of the Commonwealth countries. Today we have created sunset pictures inspired by the beautiful locations in Jamaica.
2 Red are about to start some new learning in maths all about measuring. To start off our learning we became investigators. Many of us connected this back to measures we’ve seen or used while finding out about animals in our current Learning Means the World theme ‘Going Wild!’
We looked at various units of measure, what they mean and what they may be used for. We then put them into practice to play with it and experience it by using equipment to measure items around our classroom.
Don’t forget it’s our Jubilee Coffee morning in the school hall at 9am tomorrow.
