This week Year 2 have started their new Learning Means the World theme, Paddington’s Passport. So far this geography based theme has lead us to discover the country of Peru in South America. Take a look at the collaborative displays we have created to showcase facts about Paddington’s home country.
Tickets please! Reception had a fabulous day of hot chocolate, dancing, conga, bingo and so much more!
The children loved welcoming their grown ups into nursery today for some festive fun! We decorated wreath photo frames and some collage stockings. The children have prepared their own reindeer dust, ready to sprinkle on Christmas Eve to make sure Santa and his reindeer find them!
We even enjoyed a festive sing-along of some of our favourite Christmas songs! What a great time we all had!

Well done to this week’s ‘Problem Solvers of the Week’ who made light work of this week’s reasoning questions! Great work from Ivy-Mae and Mia!
As part of our ‘Come Fly With Me; Africa’ theme, Year 4 have been looking at traditional ceremonial masks. Here are our own African style Masks.
On Monday, in RE 4 Red looked at how Christians believe that Jesus is the light of the world. We learned that this metaphor is used because Jesus lights a path for Christians, it is also a symbol of hope and warmth.
As part of this, Year 4 developed their previous skills of making stained glass windows, this time adding symbols of light. Take a Look.
Another great week of lunchtime maths problem-solving had our children thinking carefully whilst they were in the queue for dinner this week. Well done to Mya and George whose excellent reasoning and correct answers were drawn out of the boxes. Great work guys and well done to everyone who took part.
Wow, wow, wow! Reception were absolute superstars in the Christmas Nativity show, they have worked their socks off learning lots of songs and lines and are all truly magnificent stars in the making. We definitely have some budding actors and musicians amongst them and the Early Years team are bursting with pride.
On Thursday, Nursery AM had a wonderful morning with some special visitors. Jackie joined us from Seven Stories in Newcastle (it’s definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been before), along with Mr Owens and student librarians from Hebburn Comprehensive School.
The students from Hebburn Comprehensive had bid for a grant from The Key as they were keen to enthuse younger pupils about reading and stories. Their bid was successful and we were lucky enough to be included in the project.
We read some lovely stories about owls and woodland creatures and enjoyed playing games and singing songs. Jackie was brilliant at storytelling and brought some brilliant props along.
At the end of the session, the children were very excited to be given a present from the students at Hebburn Comprehensive.
A huge thank you to Hebburn Comprehensive for including us in their project and to Jackie from Seven Stories for bringing the stories to life. We had an amazing morning!
As part of our theme ‘Come Fly With Me Africa’, in DT this half term we made African style food. We made pomegranate couscous and mango and banana smoothies. They were both yummy!
