Reception Coronation Week!

5th May 2023K Richardson

What an amazing week we have had celebrating the Coronation.  We made ‘natural crowns’, decorated tiles, created loose part crowns, red white and blue patterns, built palaces and so much more!  Today we had a party outside and it was sunny!

Drumming with Mr Olatunji

2nd May 2023C Machin

Today we were lucky enough to start our drumming lessons with Mr Olatunji. He introduced us to the Tam Tam and we all had a go at starting really quietly and getting louder and louder.  We loved it and can not wait for next week!

Shaun the Sheep on the Tyne Assembly

27th April 2023Hayley Tampin

Today we welcomed Karen from St Oswald’s Hospice for a special ‘Shaun the Sheep on the Tyne’ assembly.

Karen talked to us about the fantastic work the hospice do and the wonderful care they provide for children and adults with complex disabilities.

Some of you may remember the amazing Snowdog and Elmer art trails… This year’s trail will bring a flock of beautifully decorated Shaun the Sheep sculptures to the North East. The learning programme has been sponsored by Northumbrian Water.

The school council and eco-warriors have worked hard over the last few weeks, collecting ideas from their classmates and coming up with our very own Shaun design. Our next job is to begin the painting process and to bring their design to life!

The trail begins on 19th July 2023 and will run throughout the summer holidays, ending on 27th September.

Upper Key Stage Two Boys’ Football Team: Gidney League Champions!

26th April 2023C Campbell

Our Upper Key Stage Two Boys’ Football Team completed their final league fixtures this week and after a tense evening of play, victory over a talented St. Matthew’s team confirmed our position as league winners for this season. This represents a fantastic achievement for the boys and we couldn’t be prouder of them. The team now qualifies for the Champions’ League event later in the year. We would also like to offer our commiserations to the players from St. Matthew’s who came very close to pipping us at the post. It would have been nice for both teams to have gone through but it was Hebburn Lakes who inched home in the end. Well done to all of the players from schools across the borough who have represented their schools this season and special thanks also to Mr Todd for his support with our team.

Promise and Progress For Our Girls’ Football Team

26th April 2023C Campbell

It has been an absolute pleasure to work with the Year Five and Six Girls’ Football Team this year. We played our remaining league matches at Hebburn Comprehensive School on Friday last week and our final league position was joint-10th out of 15 schools. This represents a fantastic achievement for the girls and we couldn’t be prouder of them. We are now holding an Upper Key Stage Two Girls’ Football Club to build upon the success and enthusiasm we have for football in school and we hope as many girls as possible will attend as the year goes on. Well done to this year’s team and the future looks very bright indeed!

A very special delivery to Reception!

24th April 2023K Richardson

Last week we had a very special delivery of 10 eggs, so far 9 of them have hatched, 1 boy and 8 girls. The children have loved watching them hatch and are really enjoying learning about the life cycle. 🥚 🐣 🐤 on Friday we held them. The children were amazing, so gentle and kind. They were able to tell us how to carefully look after them, how we keep them safe and what they need to stay healthy. They also discussed why their feathers are so soft and fluffy. 🐥👏🏻⭐️🐥👏🏻⭐️
