Year 2 have been using their science skills and have been looking at naming and identifying common animals that are birds, fish, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. We used our research skills to find out what each group of animals had in common. We are sorting superstars!
May half-term is fast approaching! The South Tyneside Family Hubs have a wide range of activities available across Jarrow, Hebburn, Boldon and South Shields. Take a look or visit their website for more information.
In our ‘Going Wild’ theme we have been looking at animal prints and the different textures, colours and combinations our wild animals have. In art we have tried to copy these prints using a range of materials and techniques. We then designed our own print for our imaginary animal.
In 2 red this week we’ve had a huge focus on explaining, verbalising and reasoning our methods and processes. To help us practice this, we have been teaching our aliens to add! We’ve had to make sure we have explained every detail of the methods to help our alien learn all about addition in Year 2.
Below are a list of upcoming webinars over the next few months delivered by The Toby Henderson Trust and a guide of how to book your place. There’s a whole range of subjects covered within the different webinars.
All children are going to be transitioning to a new year group, some a new school and others starting their journey in Comprehensive school so the Autism and Transition in Education webinar is definitely relevant at this time of year.

What a great start to the Summer term!
2 Red were very pleased to discover they had been awarded the very special ‘Amazing Attendance Awards’ lanyards for their excellent attendance this week.
