This week we received a letter from Aunt Lucy all the way from deepest, darkest Peru and she was asking Paddington all about his time in London and with his new family, the Brown’s. We (Paddington) planned our letter and made sure we answered all her questions using subordinating conjunctions and adjectives. I think you will agree that Aunt Lucy is going to be so pleased when she receives our replies!
Last week we had a visit from Reverend Ian from St John’s church. He talked about when you get a gift and how you have to look after it. People believe we are a gift from God. It is also believed that light is a gift from God and that it is good. He then discussed light, such as the sun and the moon. How the sun affects seasons and how the moon affects the sea. After that Reverend Ian said that we shine a light and we need to shine our light on others. He asked the children how we could brighten up someone’s day? Some suggestions were play with your friends, share, give someone a hug, make someone laugh and be kind to everyone. Finally, he shared a prayer about our school.

2 Red have returned to school refreshed and ready to learn! We hit the ground running in our new Learning Means the World theme, Paddington’s Passport, to find out all about the country of Peru.
We used our ever-improving teamwork skills to make group posters to display in our class.
In our new theme Paddington’s Passport we have been looking at the country of his birth, Peru. We decided to make a poster to show the Brown’s and other what Peru is like and why it is so special to Paddington. I am sure you’ll want to visit Peru too when you see our informative posters!

‘What I wish my parents or carers knew…’: A guide for parents and carers on managing children’s digital lives
We have started our music lessons with Mr. O and we have been looking at quarter and eighth beats. We kept the rhythm and beat going and stayed away form the naughty beat in our competition. We have some great skills at keeping time and listening for the different rhythms.
The big man himself, SANTA, came by to visit 2 blue as he had heard that they have been brilliantly behaved this year. The children all had a chance to high five and most importantly tell him what they would like for Christmas!
The children in our KS2 Choir had a brilliant time performing their carols at Campbell Court residential home as well as Hebburn Comp’s Christmas fayre last week!
They showed courage, confidence and lots of Christmas spirit while singing their hearts out for the residents and staff.
We are so proud of them all!
