Santa Claus is coming to town!

11th December 2024N Sikka

The Hebburn Lakes Family were given a wonderful surprise when Santa Claus landed with a bump on our school roof. He visited all the children in their classes and promised to leave them a gift after their party. The children had a cuddle and sang him songs. He ended his visit by meeting and greeting parents and carers at the school gates.

RE Day in Reception

10th December 2024K Richardson

Today we talked about the Christmas story. We asked who knew the characters, who they were and which character was the most important in the story of Christmas . We discussed  which parts the children in Reception are playing in our performance and how Christians often recreate the story in their church at Christmas. Some of the children then recreated the story and built a stable and others decided to paint the nativity scene.

Greetings from around the world!

5th December 2024N Sikka

This week in LMTW we have been looking at links with other countries. The children were asked if they had any family or friends who lived in different countries, then they talked to each other about them. We shared various greetings from other countries such as ‘ola’, ‘bonjour’, ‘guten tag’ and ‘namaste’. The children had great fun working in partners greeting each other in different languages. We also looked at the world map to see where some of our family and friends lived.
