A fabulous week in Reception! Lots of shape work and pattern, word hunts and writing and as always fabulous creativity! We have some new additions to Reception, some frogspawn! The child have talked about how we can look after them and have loved watching them grow and wriggle about! We look forward to watching them change and grow over the weeks.🐸🤗⭐️❤️
A fabulous week in Reception! Spring has definitely sprung ☀️. We’ve had creativity, so much writing, fabulous maths and simply a magical week where everyone has shone 🤗
In 1 Blue, we are going to be writing a set of instructions on how to make porridge to fit with our book ‘Goldilocks and the 3 bears’. We first added the porridge oats into the bowl and added milk. We then gave it a good stir and then put it in the microwave for 3 minutes. The children also know that we needed to let the porridge cook before we ate it because it would burn our tongue. When the porridge was cool, we added our choice of topping (golden syrup, sugar, jam or chocolate spread) and we ate it all up. It was very yummy!
1 Blue had an amazing day for World Book Day. We made Winnie the Pooh honey oat balls, enjoyed some fun activities in the hall and went on a scavenger hunt around school to count how many characters from Winnie the Pooh there were.
In year one it is our final week of using the text ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ in English, and what better way to end the theme than to make porridge just like the three bears did. Before we could make porridge we had to discuss the steps of making it and write a list of instructions. Once we had formed our instructions we began to make it. The children in turn had the opportunity to add ingredients, mix it, heat it up and then finally had the chance to eat it. The children used some incredible vocabulary to describe the taste and texture of the porridge. It was safe to say that some children didn’t enjoy the experience and some loved it and asked for second helpings.
Reception had a fabulous stay and play sessions. Their grown ups came to spend some time joining in with some of the activities the children enjoy in school. They showed them how creative they are, how they are working so hard on their Sounds Write skills, maths and so much more! Well done Reception!
A fabulous morning working together! Thank you all so much for coming, your support is very much appreciated. I hope you were super impressed with their Sounds Write skills ⭐️⭐️🤗🤗
A great week, sunshine, creativity, measuring, team work and smiling faces on our final week of this half term ⭐️👏❤️⭐️👏❤️🤗
Despite a very wet week we did manage some time outside! A very creative week of doctors surgery, valentines, team work, independent writing and maths. We are doing a sun dance and hoping for sunshine next week 🤗⭐️👏❤️😋☀️
