Reception had a fabulous stay and play sessions. Their grown ups came to spend some time joining in with some of the activities the children enjoy in school. They showed them how creative they are, how they are working so hard on their Sounds Write skills, maths and so much more! Well done Reception!

Despite a very wet week we did manage some time outside! A very creative week of doctors surgery, valentines, team work, independent writing and maths. We are doing a sun dance and hoping for sunshine next week 🤗⭐️👏❤️😋☀️
An extremely busy week in Reception. Lots of creativity, building, drawing and using our imagination to create stories! Great maths. Jobs combining groups and amounts. We had some fabulous independent writing, it is fabulous to see the children really using their Sounds Write skills! And this week lots of children pretending to be teachers which was amazing to watch and listen to 🤗⭐️👏🤗⭐️👏
1 Red in LMTW world were looking at how to be safe in our community especially when out and about near the roads. We talked about the do’s and don’t of road safety and worked together to work out the correct way to cross roads. We watched road safety videos and copied the stop, look and listen signs. The children offered ideas and suggestions of who and what could help us safely cross the roads, for example adults, lollipop persons, zebra crossings and pelican crossings. We finished the session by setting up a road in our classroom, we looked for instruction from the stop and go sign to help us cross the road safely

In 1 Red in LMTW ‘Unity in the Community ‘ we were looking at ‘Bird’s Eye’ views. We looked at various landmarks across the world from this angle and then the children discussed in depth what they could see. We then focused on our local environment and took a look at a birds eye view of our school. There was a lot of discussion and varying opinions about what the children could see. We then took it in turn to label parts of our school as if we were looking down on it.
We have had a very busy week! So much maths, exploring number bonds , capacity and so much more! Lots of creativity and building, team work and collaboration 🤗
This week in 5 red we have been learning all about volcanoes as part of our Learning Means the World theme “In Your Element”. We have enjoyed learning about tectonic plates, tsunamis and volcanoes, and the destruction that natural disasters can bring. Our project this week was to make our own volcanoes; then using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar, we created our very own volcanic eruptions!

What a week we’ve had in 5 Blue . As part of our Learning Means The World theme, ‘In your Element’ we have been learning all about tectonic plates, earthquakes and most excitingly volcanos. We have learnt how the earths surface is made up and how the movement of tectonic plates can cause the planet to react in different ways.
we have created a our very own volcanos and with the help of vinegar and bicarbonate of soda created our own eruptions. As you can see from our pictures we have had a lot of fun.
