A Starring Role For Hebburn Under-11s!

12th June 2024C Campbell

It is lovely to be able to share news about our children’s achievements out-of-school and Alfie in 6 Blue has had some brilliant football achievements to shout about. Alfie plays as goalkeeper for Hebburn Town Under 11s and his team has enjoyed a very successful season, resulting in promotion this year. Alfie was also awarded ‘Man-of-the-match’ in the last game of the season and he also won ‘Save-of-the-season’ too! What a fantastic achievement Alfie and keep up the brilliant work – well done to Hebburn Town Under 11s too!

How long did that take? 3 Blue Can Tell You!

6th June 2024aclark

Today in maths we have been learning about durations. We know that a duration is how long something lasts for and that some events can last more than one hour. We used our previous skills and knowledge of reading an analogue and digital clock to work out the durations of different events. To help us, we used our mini analogue clocks. We are now time experts!

Amazing Animal Patterns in 2 Red

5th June 2024L Phillips

2 Red showed just how creative they were when replicating animal patterns before creating and designing a animal print of their own.

They used a range of mixed media to try out different patterns and textures and also used some more unusual art tools. They created snake skin with paint, sponges and netting, elephant skin with paint and shaving foam, leopard spots with bubble wrap and paint and a whole range of other textures with chalk pastels, oil pastels, pens and pencils.

The end product of their own design carved into a foam board then printed onto paper was very impressive.

Nursery’s healthy sandwiches!

24th May 2024Hayley Tampin

As part of our work around the book ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ this week, the nursery children had lots of fun making some healthy ham salad sandwiches.

We talked about why we need to wash our hands before preparing food and the importance of a healthy, balanced diet.

The children used their fine motor skills to spread the butter, chop the cucumber and tomato (with help from a grown up) and cut their sandwiches. They did a great job and we had some very happy faces when they sat down to eat them too!

Well done, Nursery!
