Festival of The Girl Newcastle
in Partnership with North Standard
Below is one of the activities (Hands‑On Engineering) at the Festival of the Girl (it has a focus on girls aged 7 to 11 but everyone is welcome)
The event invites children and their families to explore sport, STEM, wellbeing, friendships, sustainability, and future careers through fun, hands‑on workshops. Activities on the day include Hands‑On Engineering, Positive Action for the Planet, Saving Lives at Sea, Learn About a Tech Ecosystem, Become a Ship’s Captain, and Dreams in Aviation. It’s a brilliant opportunity for families to explore, learn, and be inspired together.
Here is the link to find out more about the event: NEWCASTLE | Festival of The Girl
They have a morning session (10:30 to 13:30) and an afternoon session (2pm to 5pm).
This week our Year Six Boys Football Team played in the next stage of The Gidney League. They gave an amazing performance, but unfortunately lost, a very close game, to Saint Bedes 1-0. However, they went on to beat Saint Josephs, 7-1, in a brilliant match-showing determination and resilience throughout. They were a credit to our school; displaying positive attitudes and true sportsmanship… Well done boys!
